About Lee Bladon

Holistic Therapist, Somatic Psychotherapist & Author

Me & My Journey

Hello, I’m Lee Bladon (pronounced blay-dun). I’m a holistic therapist, somatic psychotherapist, coach and author of two books on psychology and inner transformation, specialising in deep emotional healing, anxiety therapy and transpersonal therapy – but I didn’t start out this way…

My journey began back in 2000, when I had a successful career and what looked like the perfect life. Yet despite my outward success, my baseline level of happiness and fulfilment was only about 4 out of 10. I was plagued by chronic anxiety and a persistent feeling that there had to be more to life – but I had no idea what to do about it.

I spent the next decade reading everything I could find on psychology, spirituality, consciousness and philosophy – searching for meaning and a way through. I learnt a great deal during that period, but it didn’t really change who I was. Despite all that knowledge, I was still anxious and unfulfilled.

My Big Breakthrough: Going Within

Then one day, it dawned on me… If I wanted deep transformational change, I needed to go deeper into my consciousness, because I couldn’t think my way to enlightenment and wellbeing. I realised that had to get out of my head and feel down into my heart (where emotions live) and into my belly (where repressed emotions are buried), and that’s when the real changes began.

When I started feeling into my “stuff” instead of just thinking about it, it all started to unpack, heal and reintegrate. I began to feel whole, happy and fulfilled, instead of anxious, insecure and flat. I was transforming, and so was my life! My baseline level of happiness and fulfilment increased from 4/10 to 8/10, and my anxiety faded away as I worked through my stuff and discovered who I really was.

Psychology Meets Spirituality

Along the way I discovered something that would become the foundation of my work as a somatic therapist and transpersonal practitioner – that psychology and spirituality aren’t separate – they’re simply two dimensions of the same inner landscape.

Our psychological “stuff” – the limiting beliefs, emotional wounds and reactive patterns – is simply our consciousness in a contracted and conditioned state. When we work through that material somatically and feel our way through it rather than just thinking about it, something naturally opens up. Clients often find that the deeper the healing goes, the more they begin to experience a genuine sense of presence, clarity and connection that transcends intellectual understanding. This sits at the heart of everything I do as a holistic therapist.

My Training and Experience as a Transpersonal Therapist

Over the past 15+ years I have studied and trained extensively in multiple modalities, including:

  • The InCorr Method (trauma-informed somatic psychotherapy)
  • Anxiety & Panic Therapy (including anxiety mapping)
  • Internal Family Systems (parts-work)
  • Hakomi (mindfulness-based somatic psychotherapy)
  • Focusing (somatic psychotherapy)
  • Holistic Counselling
  • The Enneagram (psychospiritual typology)
  • Psychosynthesis (transpersonal psychology)
  • The Diamond Approach (essence work)
  • Spiritual Life Coaching

I integrate all of these approaches in my work, drawing on whichever framework best serves each client’s unique journey.

Over the years, I have also developed a strong empathic sensitivity that allows me to tune into what’s happening within my clients – emotionally, energetically and somatically. It’s hard to describe fully, but it allows me to guide their process with a depth and precision that goes far beyond what questioning and reflection can achieve. It means I can actually feel into my client’s issues, and assist with their healing and transformation in ways other coaches and therapists simply can’t.

As a holistic therapist and somatic psychotherapist, I work at the intersection of body, psyche and consciousness – addressing not just your symptoms or patterns, but your relationship with your own inner life. Unlike conventional therapy, which tends to work at the level of thoughts and behaviour, my approach goes deeper – into the body, the nervous system, and the emotional material held there. This is where the real drivers of suffering and stuckness live, and where lasting change actually happens.

My role isn’t just to hold space and listen – it’s to actively guide you through your inner landscape with clarity and precision. I’ll help you understand what’s happening and why, and support you in feeling your way through it rather than just thinking about it. Drawing on 25 years of study, practice and direct personal experience, I bring both breadth of knowledge and genuine personal understanding to every session.

I am the author of two highly-rated books on psycholgy, spirituality and inner transformation, The Science of Spirituality (2007) and Awakening to Wholeness (2012).

Since 2018 I’ve been working one-to-one with individuals on Zoom and in person in Grantham, Lincolnshire, offering somatic therapy, anxiety therapy and spiritual life coaching – as well as a broader range of holistic therapies – to clients across the UK and around the world.

The Awakening Coach FAQ

What is a holistic therapist?

A holistic therapist works with the whole person – body, heart, mind and soul (awareness) – rather than focusing on symptoms or cognition alone. By integrating somatic, psychological and transpersonal approaches, a holistic therapist helps you to address the root causes of what’s troubling you, release old wounds and patterns, and reconnect with your authentic self. The result is change that’s genuinely lasting rather than just surface-level.

What makes you different from other holistic therapist?

I bring a rare combination of direct personal experience, 15+ years of training, and a naturally empathic, somatic attunement that allows me to sense what’s happening within my clients – emotionally and energetically – in ways that go beyond what others can reveal. I’ve walked this path myself, from chronic anxiety to genuine wellbeing, so I know the terrain intimately. My approach draws on depth psychology, somatic inquiry, the Enneagram, IFS and transpersonal therapy, and I’m the author of two books on inner transformation. That combination of lived experience, broad training and deep presence allows me to guide you with both clarity and compassion.

What is your approach to healing and transformation?

The heart of my approach is somatic inquiry – gently feeling into the body, heart and nervous system to access the emotional and psychological material that the thinking mind alone can’t reach. Rather than analysing your problems from the outside, we feel into them from the inside. This allows old wounds, beliefs and patterns to surface naturally, be met with compassion, and gradually resolve at the root level – leading to change that’s embodied and lasting rather than just intellectual.

How long does deep healing take?

There’s no quick fix, and anyone who promises one should be approached with caution. Real transformation is a gradual process – most clients notice meaningful shifts within the first few sessions, and significant change often builds over three to six months of regular work. But if you really want to go all the way, it usually takes about 18 months. Many choose to continue doing the work because each deeper layer opens up more freedom, clarity and ease. The pace is always led by you and your system, not by an external timeline or agenda.

How can you support self-discovery and spiritual growth?

For clients drawn to deeper self-inquiry and spiritual development, the somatic and psychological work naturally opens into something richer. As a transpersonal therapist, I’m very comfortable supporting this dimension of the journey – whether that means exploring questions of identity and consciousness, working with the deeper patterns of the ego-self, or simply creating space for a more genuine and connected experience of life to emerge. This work goes at whatever depth and pace feels right for you.
