About Lee Bladon

Transpersonal Therapist, Spiritual Coach & Author

Me & My Journey

Hello, I’m Lee Bladon (pronounced blay-dun). I’m a transpersonal therapist, spiritual life coach and somatic therapist specialising in spiritual awakening and deep emotional healing – but I didn’t start out this way…

My journey began back in 2000, when I had a successful career and what looked like the perfect life. Yet despite my outward success, my baseline level of happiness and fulfilment was only 4 out of 10. I was plagued by chronic anxiety and a nagging feeling that there must be more to life than this, but I had no idea what to do about it.

I spent the next decade devouring hundreds of books on psychology, spirituality, consciousness, theosophy and metaphysics – searching desperately for the meaning of life, universe and everything. I learnt so much during that period, but it didn’t really change who I was. Despite all that mind-blowing knowledge, I was still anxious and unfulfilled – I was still the same old me.

My Big Breakthrough: Going Within

Then one day, it dawned on me… If I wanted deep transformational change, I needed to go deeper into my consciousness, because I couldn’t think my way to enlightenment and wellbeing. I realised that had to get out of my head and feel down into my heart (where emotions live) and into my belly (where repressed emotions are buried), and that’s when the real changes began.

When I started feeling into my “stuff” instead of just thinking about it, it all started to unpack, heal and reintegrate. I began to feel whole, happy and fulfilled, instead of anxious, insecure and flat. I was transforming, and so was my life! My baseline level of happiness and fulfilment increased from 4/10 to 8/10, and my anxiety faded away as I worked through my stuff and discovered who I really was.

My Surprising Discovery: Psychology Meets Spirituality

Along the way, I realised that psychology and spirituality are just different frequencies of consciousness, and that inner work isn’t always easy, but it’s nowhere near as scary or painful as I thought. With courage and the right support, we can feel our way through the fear and process what’s inside because our adult-self has far more capacity than our child-self ever did.

Thoughts and emotions are messages – once they have been delivered (i.e. seen, heard or felt) they can dissolve. The structure of the thought-form or emotional-form dissolves, which reveals our unstructured, unconditioned, liberated, soul essence.

But here’s what truly amazed me: the “inner work” wasn’t just about processing unpleasant psychological stuff – limiting beliefs, emotional traumas and reactive patterns. What really sparked my passion for this work was the profound spiritual experiences that began occurring more and more frequently.

My inquiry sessions would typically begin with a psychological issue. Once I’d explored and worked through that material, I would often find myself having wonderful spiritual experiences – and I’d never considered myself spiritual before. I realised something that would become the foundation of my work as a transpersonal therapist: Psychology and spirituality aren’t separate – they’re two poles of the same continuum: our consciousness.

Our pure, unconditioned, un-traumatised consciousness is spiritual in nature. It’s our true nature, our essence, our soul. And our psychological “stuff” is the same soul essence that has become stuck, patterned or programmed with false, distorted or limiting beliefs and deficient feelings. When we work through an emotional issue and release what’s held there, our soul essence is freed to return to its natural state – which is inherently happy, peaceful, and fulfilled. This understanding is the heart of transpersonal therapy.

My Training and Experience as a Transpersonal Therapist

Over the past 15+ years I have studied and trained extensively in multiple modalities, including:

  • Spiritual Life Coaching
  • Holistic Counselling
  • The InCorr Method (trauma-informed somatic healing)
  • Anxiety & Panic Therapy
  • Focusing (somatic psychotherapy)
  • Internal Family Systems (parts-work)
  • Hakomi (mindfulness-based somatic psychotherapy)
  • Psychosynthesis (transpersonal psychology)
  • The Diamond Approach (essence work)
  • The Enneagram (psychospiritual typology)
  • Spinal Energetics & Reiki (energy healing)

I integrate all of these approaches in my work as a transpersonal therapist, drawing on whichever framework will best serve each client’s unique healing journey.

I have also developed a strong empathic connection that allows me to sense energetic and emotional imbalances in other people. It enables me to feel into my client’s issues, and assist with their healing and transformation in ways other coaches and therapists can’t.

As a transpersonal therapist, I work at the intersection of psychology and spirituality – addressing not just your symptoms or behavioural patterns, but your relationship with consciousness itself. Transpersonal means “beyond the personal”, so it explores the spiritual dimensions of human experience while honouring the psychological healing that must accompany awakening.

As a transpersonal therapist, I don’t just guide clients through their healing and awakening – I share the frameworks, principles and insights I’ve gathered over 25 years of study and practice. My role is to illuminate the path, explain the terrain, and help you understand the deeper dynamics of consciousness, ego-disidentification and awakening.

I am the author of two highly-rated books on spirituality and personal transformation, The Science of Spirituality (2007) and Awakening to Wholeness (2012).

Since 2018, I have been helping people with personal and transpersonal healing, growth and awakening. I specialise in spiritual development, and the associated psychological patterns and ego-identifications that obscure your realisation of your true, spiritual nature. My other area of expertise is anxiety therapy, which in many cases is a call to heal and awaken to your true nature.

The Awakening Coach FAQ

What is a transpersonal therapist?

A transpersonal therapist works at the intersection of psychology (personal consciousness) and spirituality (transpersonal consciousness). I guide you towards deeper self-awareness and awakening by sharing wisdom, presence and practices developed through years of study, training and direct experience. Unlike regular therapy that works at the level of mind, transpersonal therapy works at the level of consciousness itself – helping you to experientially awaken to your true nature. We work somatically to understand the inner landscape you’re navigating, illuminate patterns that your mind isn’t aware of yet, and gradually awaken tto the wholeness of your being through psychological healing and spiritual embodiment.

What makes you unique as a transpersonal therapist?

As a transpersonal therapist of 8+ years, I bring a unique combination of direct experience, extensive training, and an empathic nondual presence that allows me to sense what’s happening within my clients – somatically, emotionally and spiritually. I’ve walked this path myself – from anxiety to awakening – so I know the terrain intimately. My highly effective approach draws on depth psychology, somatic inquiry, the Enneagram, Internal Family Systems and esoteric knowledge. I’m also the author of two influential books on spirituality and consciousness. This depth of knowledge and experience allows me to guide you with clarity, compassion and wisdom that comes from lived understanding, not just intellectual study.

What is your approach to healing and awakening?

The central element of my approach is called somatic inquiry or embodied inquiry. It involves feeling into your body, heart and soul, energetically and emotionally, to gain access to information and states that your mind isn’t yet consciously aware of. Awakening usually happens gradually as you process the psychological material that is obscuring your true nature. When your release this mental, emotional and energitic “baggage” that’s been holding you down spiritually, your consciouness can soar to new heights.

How can you support my healing and awakening?

In addition to my highly specialised training, unique approach, and years of experience, I have developed a nondual, empathic connection that allows me to sense what’s happening within my clients – somatically and emotionally. It enables me to feel into their issues, and assist with their healing and transformation in ways most other coaches and therapists can’t. I have studied psychology, spirituality and esoterics for 25 years and have been doing inner work for 15 years, so I have walked the path myself and know the “terrain” like the back of my hand.

What is it like to heal and awaken?

Healing liberates the parts of our consciousness that are wounded and conditioned, and re-integrates them back into the wholeness of our being. This ongoing process gradually shifts our identity from ego (our wounded, deficient, conditioned, conceptual, separate sense of self) to essence (the liberated, unconditioned, authentic, integrated, wholeness of our true nature). Enlightenment becomes possible when we have more liberated essence (soul) than conditioned essence (ego), i.e. 51% to 49%. But enlightenment isn’t the end of our journey because the rest of our ego still needs to be dissolved and re-integrated. And there are even subtler aspects of our consciousness waiting to be discovered, e.g. emptiness, spirit, totality and beyond.
